CRPROF-NQF5-KM-13 Practical Assignments
The Practical skills component builds on what was learned in the knowledge component. It will give the learner the necessary practice through a practical exercise that may be carried out as follows:
- In the classroom setting
- In a small group setting
- Or as per the requirements of the particular Assignment.
The completed Integrated Assessment Criteria (IAC) must be uploaded onto the LMS as per the prescribed procedures. Please ensure you upload and allocate your IACs to the correct section on the LMS. Your assignments are to be uploaded onto the LMS at the end of a part, together with the knowledge modules where they are linked. For instance – A practical assignment (PM10 and PM11) is to be submitted at the end of Knowledge Module 13.
The assessment of the practical assignments will be carried out as per the usual assessment procedure.
Practical Assignment 10 (PM-10): Facilitate effective ministries in a faith community (operational management as a spiritual discipline)

The focus of the learning in this module is on providing you with an opportunity to develop your ability to plan, implement and manage ministries and activities (programs, projects and
initiatives) of the faith community
PM-10-PS01: Develop and implement operational plans for a faith community’s ministries, projects, and initiatives.
- IAC0101: Gather information from a range of sources to select information appropriate to the operational plan and analyse and evaluate that information to draft:
- The ministry or project plan reflected the Christ-centred, spiritual and missional nature of the church (faith community). The project plan contained the following
- Goals and objectives
- An analysis of relevant strengths and challenges
- Action steps and deliverables
- A realistic schedule
- An indication of responsibilities and delegations
- Risks analysis
- A budget with a resource and funding plan
- A monitoring, evaluation and maintenance strategy to keep the project alive and responsive to unforeseen eventualities. The oversight, monitoring and review processes contain relevant monitoring and evaluation indicators and are aimed at keeping the project alive and responsive to unforeseen eventualities. The close-out report included lessons learnt, and a summary of the objectives met.
Explanatory Notes: Given a faith community setting and notes on the broad strategic guidelines and a leadership structure of a faith community, you must lead a group session to plan a ministry, project or program for the faith community, and draw up a ministry plan (an operational plan for a specific ministry)

Practical Assignment 11 (PM-11): Facilitate stewardship processes in the faith community (stewardship as a spiritual discipline)

The focus of the learning in this module is on providing an opportunity to develop your ability regarding administrative processes, financial management processes and accountability processes in the faith community.
PM-11-PS01: Evaluate and inform the organizational governance practices.
- IAC0101: Gather, analyze and evaluate or interpret relevant financial control mechanisms.
Explanatory Notes: Identify a faith community and, based on their legal status and financial practices, establish the financial health of the faith community and comment on the financial control mechanisms and possible risks in the faith community.
Word Count: 800 – 1200 Words.
PM-11-PS02: Evaluate and inform the financial management processes of a faith community.
- IAC0201: Gather, analyze and evaluate or interpret relevant financial practices.
Explanatory Notes: Given the chosen faith community’s financial practices and statements, evaluate the existing financial management and accountability framework of the faith community, interpret the financial statements of the faith community, compile a budget for the overall functioning of the faith community and monitor and comment on the cash management processes and procurement processes of the faith community.
Word Count: 1500 – 2000 Words.
PM-11-PS03: Evaluate and inform a faith community’s asset and facility management processes.
- IAC0301: Gather, analyze and evaluate or interpret relevant asset and facility management processes
Explanatory Notes: Given the chosen faith community’s asset and facility management processes, evaluate the existing asset and facility management processes of the faith community, compile an asset register and identify health and safety risks in the facilities used by the faith community.
Word Count: 1500 – 2000 Words.
PM-11-PS04: Evaluate and inform the administrative and human resource management processes of a faith community.
- IAC0401: Apply essential methods, procedures and techniques to a faith community’s administrative processes and motivate change
Explanatory Notes: Given the chosen faith community’s administrative processes, evaluate the existing administrative and human resource management processes of the said faith community. Establish a document management system, compile a membership register, compile job delegations and performance agreements for employees and conduct a performance feedback session.
Word Count: 2000 – 2500 Words.
